How Clip Mode Works

Step-by-Step Workflow

When you upload a beat in ScheduleBeats Studio and select Clip Mode:

Paste a YouTube URL: Any public YouTube video (music videos, stock footage, nature clips, city B-roll, etc.)
Choose a 15-second segment: Scrub through the video and select the best 15 seconds
ScheduleBeats downloads the clip: The video service extracts that segment
Video generation: The clip loops seamlessly with your beat audio layered on top
Output quality: 1080p (Consistency+) or 4K (Born For This)

The final video is your beat audio + the looping YouTube clip. It looks like you hired a video editor, but it's automated.

Clip Mode Setup in ScheduleBeats

Step 1: Upload Your Beat

In ScheduleBeats Studio:

Click Upload Beat
Add your audio file, title, tags, BPM, key
When you reach the Cover step, you'll see three options:

Select Clip Mode.

Step 2: Paste YouTube URL

A field will appear asking for a YouTube URL. Paste any public YouTube video link.

ScheduleBeats will load a preview of the video.

Step 3: Select Your 15-Second Clip

Use the scrubber to navigate through the video. Click to set the start point of your 15-second clip.

Choose visually interesting segments: Avoid static shots; look for motion, color changes, or transitions

Test the loop: Imagine the clip repeating—does it loop smoothly, or will it feel jarring?

Match the vibe: Dark beat? Choose dark footage. Energetic beat? Choose fast-moving clips.

The preview will show what your selected segment looks like.

Step 4: Optionally Upload a Custom BeatStars Cover

Since Clip Mode uses video for YouTube, you may want a different static image for BeatStars. ScheduleBeats lets you upload a custom cover specifically for BeatStars while using the video clip for YouTube.

This is optional—if you skip it, ScheduleBeats will auto-generate a cover from a frame of your clip.

Step 5: Schedule and Generate

Set your publish time and platform (YouTube, BeatStars, or both). Click Schedule.

ScheduleBeats will:

Download the 15-second clip from YouTube
Render your beat video with the clip looping
Publish to YouTube and/or BeatStars at the scheduled time

Clip Mode vs. Custom Video Upload

Visual Qualities to Look For

Motion: Avoid static shots. Look for camera movement, subject movement, or changing light.
Color consistency: The clip should have a cohesive color palette that matches your beat's mood.
Loopability: The last frame should somewhat blend with the first frame for smooth looping (not always possible, but helps).
No text or logos: Avoid clips with large text overlays or branding—it distracts from your beat title.

Vibe Matching

Match your clip to your beat's energy:

Dark trap: Night city footage, shadowy alleyways, rain, smoke
Chill/lo-fi: Nature, sunsets, beaches, slow-moving clouds
Energetic/hype: Fast cars, concert footage, strobe lights, crowds

The clip should reinforce the beat's mood, not clash with it.

Avoid Overly Busy Clips

If the video is too visually chaotic, it distracts from your beat. Simple, high-quality footage works better than over-edited clips with rapid cuts.

Troubleshooting Clip Mode

"Video download failed"

Cause: The YouTube video is private, age-restricted, or unavailable in some regions.

Fix: Choose a different public YouTube video. Make sure it's not copyright-blocked or region-locked.

"Clip Mode not available"

Cause: You're on the Free plan.

Fix: Upgrade to Consistency+ or Born For This to unlock Clip Mode.

"Video generation is taking a long time"

Cause: 4K rendering takes longer, especially if the source clip is high resolution.

Fix: Be patient—4K rendering can take 10-15 minutes. You'll get a notification when it's done.

"The loop looks jarring"

Cause: The clip you chose doesn't loop smoothly (last frame is very different from the first).

Fix: Choose a different segment with more gradual motion, or pick clips that were designed to loop (search "loopable stock footage" on YouTube).
