The answer with ScheduleBeats: No. Never.
The ScheduleBeats Chrome extension lets you connect your BeatStars account using session cookies—not your password. You log into BeatStars yourself in your own browser, and the extension securely passes encrypted session data to ScheduleBeats. We never see or store your password.

Why the Chrome Extension Exists
The Password Problem
Traditionally, automation tools ask for your username and password. This creates serious security risks:
- You're trusting a third party with full account access
- If the service gets hacked, your password is exposed
- If you change your password, you have to re-enter it everywhere
- Two-factor authentication breaks because the tool can't pass 2FA challenges
This is why ScheduleBeats built the Chrome extension: to eliminate password sharing entirely.
How Session Cookies Work
When you log into BeatStars in your browser, BeatStars gives your browser session cookies. These cookies prove to BeatStars that you're logged in. They're temporary, encrypted, and expire after a period of inactivity.
The Chrome extension:
- Captures your session cookies (only after you explicitly click "Connect")
- Encrypts them using industry-standard encryption
- Sends them securely to your ScheduleBeats account
- Uses those cookies to schedule uploads on your behalf
You remain in control. You can disconnect anytime. Your password never leaves your browser.
Step-by-Step: Install and Connect
Step 1: Install the Chrome Extension
- Go to the Chrome Web Store
- Click Add to Chrome
- Confirm the installation
The extension will appear in your Chrome toolbar. It's a small ScheduleBeats icon.
Step 2: Log Into BeatStars
Open a new tab and go to beatstars.com. Log in with your username and password as you normally would.
Important: Log in on BeatStars first. The extension doesn't work until you're logged in.
If you have two-factor authentication enabled, complete the 2FA challenge. The extension works with 2FA—it just needs you to be logged in first.
Step 3: Open ScheduleBeats Studio
In another tab, go to schedulebeats.com/studio and log into your ScheduleBeats account.
Navigate to Settings → Platforms → BeatStars.
Step 4: Click "Connect with Chrome Extension"
You'll see a button that says Connect with Chrome Extension. Click it.
A popup will appear asking you to confirm the connection. The extension will detect that you're logged into BeatStars and capture your session cookies.
Step 5: Confirm Connection
Once connected, you'll see:
- BeatStars email or "Via Chrome Extension" displayed in your ScheduleBeats settings
- Green checkmark showing the connection is active
- Disconnect button if you ever want to revoke access
That's it. You're connected. You can now schedule beats to upload automatically to BeatStars.
What Happens Behind the Scenes
Security Architecture
Here's the technical flow (non-technical producers can skip this, but it's here for transparency):
- You log into BeatStars in Chrome (your password goes to BeatStars, not ScheduleBeats)
- BeatStars gives your browser session cookies (standard web authentication)
- You click Connect in the Chrome extension
- The extension encrypts your cookies using AES-256 encryption
- Encrypted cookies are sent to ScheduleBeats servers via HTTPS
- ScheduleBeats stores the encrypted cookies tied to your account
- When you schedule a beat, ScheduleBeats decrypts the cookies and uses them to authenticate with BeatStars
- BeatStars sees the request as coming from you (because it's using your session)
At no point does ScheduleBeats have your password. We only have temporary session cookies that you can revoke anytime.
Expiration and Re-connection
Session cookies eventually expire. BeatStars typically keeps sessions alive for several weeks, but if you:
- Log out of BeatStars
- Clear your browser cookies
- Change your BeatStars password
...you'll need to reconnect via the Chrome extension. ScheduleBeats will notify you if your connection expires and prompt you to reconnect.
Chrome Extension vs. OAuth
ScheduleBeats offers two ways to connect BeatStars:

Troubleshooting Common Issues
"Extension not detecting BeatStars login"
Cause: You're not logged into BeatStars yet, or you're on the wrong BeatStars page.
Fix:
"Connection expired"
Cause: Your BeatStars session cookies expired (usually after 2-4 weeks of inactivity, or if you logged out).
Fix:
"Uploads failing with 'session invalid' error"
Cause: You changed your BeatStars password or logged out, which invalidated your session.
Fix: Reconnect via the Chrome extension following the same steps as initial setup.
"I don't have Chrome—can I still use ScheduleBeats?"
Yes, but you can't connect BeatStars yet. The Chrome extension is currently the only secure connection method. You can still:
- Use YouTube-only mode: Connect your YouTube channel via OAuth (works in any browser)
- Use the beat library and calendar: Organize and prepare your beats for when you can connect
BeatStars doesn't offer API access or OAuth yet, so the Chrome extension is the best available solution.
Disconnecting Your Account
You remain in full control of the connection. To disconnect:
- Go to ScheduleBeats Studio → Settings → Platforms → BeatStars
- Click Disconnect
- Confirm the disconnection
ScheduleBeats immediately deletes your session cookies from our servers. You can reconnect anytime by following the setup steps again.
Why This Approach Is Secure

- Your session cookies (encrypted, temporary, revocable)
- Your BeatStars username/email (public info visible on your profile)
What ScheduleBeats Does NOT Know
- Your BeatStars password (never leaves your browser)
- Your payment info (stored by BeatStars, not us)
- Your 2FA codes (you enter them directly on BeatStars)
